Hi everyone,

I'm just waiting for the N900 to come out here in Germany, and I've been wondering what sort of apps are available in the repository (I'm guessing it's a lot more than the ones available here on maemo.org)... is there a way to get a look at the apps in there without actually having an N900? I've been trying to install the SDK, but it's not really working for me

Is there a list online somewhere?

You're looking for this, I believe.

There's no such thing as "the repository". There can be n repositories. All of them can be browsed either by pointing the web browser directly to the repository or by other means.

Let's see...

The Extras repository maintained by the community is what you see when you go to downloads here.

Other repositories are visible here:
http://maemo.org/packages/repository/
Especially Extras-devel and Extras-testing are interesting for those looking for software. It's just that apps from there may burn your battery, break your screen and kill your speakers.

Another source is the downloads.maemo.nokia.com repo, which you can browse at the "Ovi Store" section of Maemo Select.

maemo.org/downloads has all apps which are in Extras repository. Here's the testing queue for Extras http://maemo.org/packages/repository...xtras-testing/

I believe the ovi store is the only one pre-enabled. The others will be visible for enabling as I understand it.

Once you get the device if you go to application manager the extras repo will be set up in there I believe, but deactivated so just re-activate it and your set to download.

Hmmm, I've been looking at your links, but I'm a bit confused... why are there i386 as well as armel repositories? I thought apps would be built in the SDK, so why have a separate i386 repository?
