Thought this was interesting with a lot of people posting about having issues.

http://reviews.cnet.com/4504-4_7-0.h...73&tag=compare

The N900 scores higher in the user ratings than the N97, Droid, and IPhone 3GS. Just posting this to shed some light for the individuals seeing all the negative news. Users outside this community are loving their phones. Amazon has about 20 reviews online now and I think the N900 is standing at around 4/5 stars.

I think it really shows that the device appeals to the target audience, especially since its user review is better than CNet's. Also, the updates have improved the device since the review.

yea i dont know whats wrong with the editors/reviewers ... for example I think n97 never deserved that "nokia is doomed" article that gizmodo wrote. Although gizmodo is pretty positive about n900, but i started hating gizmodo for that article, it seemed a *childish* dicision to run such an article ... imo ie, it cud have been written pretty differently and still mention the negatives of n97....

I think you hit it on the head there with, "target audience". They should review it from that standpoint. It's reviewed too much as simply a "phone", and not what Nokia intended it to be, which was a table pc/phone.

I also don't ever hear the reviewers talk about it being unlocked, fully open OS, etc. and what that could/does mean for the customer who purchases this phone/tablet. Nor do I think the run of the mill consumer really understands what multi-tasking means on a phone. I have the Iphone and to be honest I didn't realize its limitations until I owned it for about 6 months.
