Hi

I need to get a replacement battery as my BL-5J is not holding the charge much now. Problem is, ebay there does not seem to be a reseller I can trust. I was trying to get Japod BL-5J in the Uk to no avail.

Anyone care to either point me in the direction of a known good ebay seller or a online store thats not a rip off?

Try www.dealextreme.com

I brought a Japod BL-5J Replacement 3.7V 1350mAh Li-Ion Battery for Nokia 5800, cost me around $9 or 6 english pounds.

Delievery takes a while though i was waiting for about 2weeks but you can track it online.

Performance wise, i think its slightly better than the original nokia. I read a few battery test forums on here, before purchasing it, and tbh it was worth! The battery ain't a fake despite its appearance lol.

The Nokia 5230 uses the same battery. So try eBay by searching 'Nokia 5230 Battery' because 5230's are more popular. I think 5800's use them too, but not sure bout that.

Have you also tried Nokia Care Centre?

Facts as opposed to rank speculation are useful always.

Just my words, never rely on what one thinks, thats why i made that thread instead of everybody saying that the battery that they bought was really good.

And the thread will continue with one more battery that have been brought to my attention, in the mean time im experimenting with using the wast space in the mugen cover to put a 64GB SDHC card instead of the 32GB max (for now) and slow microSD, and also building my own computer controlled charge/discharge system to get my battery meter script down below 1% accuracy

the japod i ordered arrived today and tbh i'm very impressed, fits well and was already half charged. my old battery must have had it, i usually have to put it on charge around dinner time but no need to with the new one. feelin confident that this battery will last all day and at about $8 or a fiver to us brits it's money well spent )
