Hi, would it be possible to create a page somewhere with some "how to" videos? S
Many of you have been kind enough to post quite a number a these videos on youtube. But there is also a lot of unwanted stuff that one could skip for time sake. Sometimes, instead of having to search the whole forum (tho it's good that we have it) you could go straight to that page for some of the basic questions dealing with fmradio for instance.
It would a great help especially for the new users and we ask a lot of the same questions over and over...
I'd be willing to help with that in anyway that I can. This forum is the perfect place to have at least the links to these vids.

It wouldn't be restricted to neither the n800 nor n770 users.
Also let me know if such a page has already been created somewhere.

What do you all think?

Wouldn't the Wiki section be a good place for accumulating helpful tips?

Out-of-date information could be edited and replaced. A forum search can result in finding lots of discussion and questions, rather than just answers.

As an aside, personally I find it a puzzling trend to post more and more howto information in the form of videos, when some text and a few pictures is often more appropriate, as well as less bandwidth-hungry.

But then, I hear that youngsters today think email is passe, everything has to be Web2.0 with the last vowel removd, so I'm obviously out of touch.

The Wiki would be a good place, we could use these same categories and populate them with the videos that we have so far. Who could grant us permission to try this?
Next we would let people know and make it noticeable to whoever comes on this site.

Thx for the videos thoughtfix, I'd like to know the many different things that I can do with my n800. Nothing specific for now. whatever is out there, you never know what will catch people's attention. (BTW, mplayer's very slow most time when browsing, forever refreshing).

Anyone knows where to find more videos or would be interested in making more useful ones for us? Or interested in updating the Wiki?

A place to find "just answers"

It looks like you can log in to edit the wiki pages using your existing ITT username.

From the main page:
Who can participate?

All of the members can! As long as you are a registered member of Internet Tablet Talk, you can help share your experiences as well as help improve others' documented experiences thereby enhancing the quality of information for the benefit of the community.

What can you write about and how can you help?

If you have a Nokia Internet Tablet device and just found a neat trick or feature that you think others might want to hear about, then add a new wiki about it.
The Wiki already includes a HowTo section, although I don't know how easy it would be to embed videos into pages.

I can't see a way to search the wiki pages, but maybe I'm just missing it.

What is the Gallery link used for, do you know? it's empty for now.

What if we could keep it outside the wiki but right next to it (before software)? Another tab that says video so that everyone who comes on this forum can easily notice it. This way you won't have to keep telling people where to go to find it...

Within that you would have two links: N800, N770. Then all the categories from the Wiki and then the link to the vids.

Video -> N800 -> System -> Myvideo ie. How to flash the SDHC kernel w/out connecting to a computer

Something like that. If you think this would work I'll go ahead and email them (from contact us above) to see they think.
