Hi guys.
Don't know if this subject has been discussed before..
Is there an autolock function, so when you "close" the Nokia N900, it will lock itself, without having to slide the button on the side of the device?

Why on earth would you want to have to then unlock it when browsing the web using just the touch screen? The N900 automatically locks when you stop using it for a period of time anyhow. Do you always have the keyboard open regardless of whether you need it to perform the function you are using?

Yeah, I pretty much do. Perhaps partly as a habit, partly because I've got big hands and fingers and it feels better to hold the device with KB open.
Obviously the app can and likely will have some logic when locking, like being on desktop its ok and when having fullscreen app open then not ok etc.
A lot of apps and settings are just to satisfy people with different tastes and thats just the receipe for satisfied users: not having to stick to some settings or functionality set by someone else. If something looks stupid to you it might be a killer app for some else and vice versa. Nobody forces you to install anything you don't like

Not saying that you can't write an app just that it seems a lot of work when double click of the power button or slide of the lock button do basically the same thing. If you open the keyboard when the lock is one it unlocks and enables the screen. Still, best of luck!
