Hi there,

I'm tryinging to set up a connection using openvpn to connect to my uni wireless network.

I have the following settings I need to enter;

Host: vlink01.griffith.edu.au
Group Authentication - Username: griffith, Password: etcetc

Could anyone tell me how to do this using OpenVPN?

Thanks.

That doesn't sound like openvpn (openvpn operates with certificates, not password). So your UNI is probably using some other kind of VPN, and not OpenVPN. Could be e.g. MS PPTP.

EDIT: I looked it up. It looks like they're using Cisco VPN, so what you want to install is vpnc, not openvpn. You should find it in the application manager. There's a vpnc-gui to install as well.
You may have to enable extras-devel to find it, I'm not certain, but right now I don't see it after I disabled extras-devel (which you should also do when you're done with installing from there)

Ahh it is, I thought OpenVPN worked with both. Is there a password alternative?

Yes, see above posting (which I updated). However, reading up on the VPNC client for Maemo (https://garage.maemo.org/projects/vpnc/) it looks like it may not support password mode. But try to install it anyway, that page may not be up-to-date for all I know.
