Hi friends!

I'm sorry if this has been posted before or it's not in the correct section.

My problem is that i can't use my laptop to create an ad-hoc wireless connection to allow the n900 to receive internet through it.

here are the symptoms:

-it worked the first time, then after a restart it stopped working
-it works if i use windows system restore
-there are no packets received in the wireless network's status info
- internet doesn't work on the phone

I have tried to recreate the network many times, but besides the first time when it worked, it doesn't ask me if i want to share my internet connection through it.
i have also tried ipconfig /flush dns and ipconfig /release and renew
and now i'm out of ideas!

If anyone has experienced this issue before and found a solution, please post, i would be forever grateful!

Cheers!

you could use blue tooth /usb through pc suite.

And why cant you just system restore and leave it at that point?

I had simiar issues when I tried that with my Mac Mini, the problem I faced was with the network security, once I set it to WEP as opposed to WPA which is what I used with my 3GS everything was fine.

It could be a similar problem for you...

well its something you have done since that point.

so it could be anything. its obvioulsy not your network settings as you seem to know who to set it up.

edit

"because if i restart the pc or the phone the connection breaks again "

actually this is strange- could it be a default start programm ithat is effecting your network.

to make it work you have to use system restore every time you boot!

most of the guyus on here are linux , and winmo 7 is a new os anyway..

i think you can take your n900 out of the equation here- and just use google effectively.

windows 7 network problem etc etc
