You can either do this

1.
-Install 'rootsh' package from the application manager
-Type in xterminal :

sudo gainroot
apt-get remove libqt4-phonon

If it's still not letting you updating, try freeing rootfs :

2.

sudo gainroot
apt-get install pymaemo-optify
apt-get clean

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ghlight=rootfs

3. Disable extras-devel and extras-testing from application manager through catalogs

p.s. 1) unsinstalling ioquake3 and OpenArena helps a lot 2) For those who install

Hope it helps!

Here's the wiki page if you want to free up some rootfs space:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Free_up_rootfs_space

First option works for me Do NOT install Tickstill -or some app named like that- because it uses libqt4-phonon. Removal of it will also remove libqt4-phonon and you'll upgrade OTA.

Hi,

This got me part way there:

... in my case, this was installed as a dependency of Google Latitude. When I uninstalled that, I still had to:

apt-get autoremove

to remove the other libqt4 packages before it would let me update.

Cheers,
John

Also it would be helpful to mention that the update only requires 45mb of rootfs space if I'm not mistaken..

And that removing open arena didn't do anything..
