So the backup on the N900 backs up the following:

Communications and Calendar
Bookmarks
Settings
Application list

My question is, what exactly does it back up?

Communications and Calendar = Text messages and calendar?
Bookmarks - Internet links
Settings - All the phone settings I have
Application list - Does this back up the full list of applications? And does that mean, that it then downloads all the applications again???

How does it work?

Thanks!

you can reinstall every app that can be found in repositories (not the ones installed from local debs etc) with full backup.

also pretty much every program saves its settings etc to a folder that is backed up with the utility.

yes you can. the application manager pops up the list of applications you had installed and you can select the ones from the list you don't want to have installed.

Does it also backup any images you have taken on your camera?

I connect to mass storage mode, and I cant find the camera folder?
