Hellow guys
I've been facing this problem with deleting files, texts ,etc...
I think it can be made much simpler and faster to use.
for example the iPhone(all you need to do is slide your finger on the file to delete it).
the process of holding and waiting for the menu to show up then choosing delete and the conforming is consuming alot of time.
i guess all users will appreciate a faster way to delete undesired files.

you can use the delete option, then you can delete multiple files at once (sometimes, you can press CTRL + A to select all too).

I think any simpler than this would trigger the delete command when you don't need it (c'mon, 99% of the time you'll scroll through your files, not delete).

I don't know how it works at iPhone, but that's what I think.

most file lists if u press the bar at the top then press delete, you can select multiple items then hit delete once to erase all selected.

There's no long press using the menu!
Can you make a video or send a video of this so called magic iPhone delete mode?

with maemo, click del from the bar and select as many files u needed and ok to finish it,

iphones option looks good for single files.. 1 steps lesser ( confirmation)

ooh i rather like having a delete confirmation when theres no recycle bin, my thumbs aren't the most accurate in the world and sometimes that confirmation has saved things i'd rather not lose!

It's like few seconds better.
If we just make the "long press" quicker, it be the same:

iPhone:
1) move your finger from right to left
2) click delete

maemo:
1) press your finger in the file (holding)
2) click delete (be aware that you don't need to hold and move, once the menu is there, you can release your finger and press what you need, like on iPhone...)
3) confirms

I don't how is the iPhone batch delete, the maemo:
1) Click at top
2) Click delete
3) Click at files you want to be deleted
4) Click delete
5) Click confirm

I don't think trash is a good idea, I preffer confirmation.
Also, I don't delete files/email that often...
