I want to add Real video/audio 11 codec for Mplayer,Where to download and how to install it?
and how to use the newest video decoder when playing a .rmvb file?

(It's Linux RealPlayer 10 RV30/40 decoder now in the newest Mplayer)

You'll need to recompile mplayer (which is in Garage). What library provides this latest Real video/audio decoder?

what's the path of decoder files of Mplayer in Maemo?
I can't find it in /usr/lib,and no codec files.
if I find it ,and use the newest realvideo 11 codec(such as drvc.so) to overwrite the old one,
Is it useful?
Who can give me a newer codec file ,I want to try it .
Thank you ! my email:guojgqd@163.com

That's the way to wrap a Win32 dll isn't it? That won't work on our ARM platform.

Try looking at Helix (which is what's used on the device atm) and see if mplayer links into that, and if not I'm sure patches are welcome.

From Mplayer‘s website,I know there should be these realvideo codec including in the newest version Mplayer:
Linux RealPlayer 10 RV30/40 decoder drvc.so
Linux RealPlayer 9 RV40 decoder drv4.so.6.0
Linux RealPlayer 8 RV30 decoder drv3.so.6.0
Linux RealPlayer 8 RV20 decoder drv2.so.6.0

But I can’t find them in the system.
I only find several files looking like rmvb decoders in /usr/lib/helix ,
but they are not the Mplayer's codecs obviously, because the size of file
is different.
Where are the Mplayer's codecs?

*bump*

trying to do exact same thing, as no matter how much i tweak, mplayer just cannot seem to get the freaking audio synced with the video!

Those binary codecs are only available for PPC and x86, I think. Your N900 has an ARM processor, your PC and your new mac has x86, and old macs have PPC processors. So, these .so and .dll files are useless on N900.

since mplayer on the N900 is no "standard" mplayer release from mplayerhq.hu, but a custom built one, there are going to be differences.

the package maintainer for mplayer had to decide which codecs to include and which not to. so if you need something specific, it's probably best to ask the maintainer of the package.
