I tried all the lo-tech tricks I know, I couldn't get it to play, sorry.

Shoutcast.com will typically host streams of stations in MP3 format that otherwise aren't available in MP3. (i.e., the streams available from the main net radio site are in some format other than MP3, but SC.com will still have them available in MP3 somehow).

But, the station you linked isn't on their list. Well, it is, technically, but a search for MBC produced one hit, of a raucous Spanish (?) music station.

My advice is to search Shoutcast for similar music that is steamable to your N900 - there has to be more than one Saudi internet radion station out there!

Heres a solution.
Step 1: Install mplayer from extras-devel (warning - do a *lot* of reading before you enable the extras-devel repository, it can be dangerous for your n900 if you mistakenly install the wrong package. immediately disable extras-devel once you have mplayer installed.)

Step 2: go to X terminal, and type this:
Code:
mplayer http://nms1.mbc.net/mbcfm2
They are obviously using a very non-standard codec which looks like it requires some activex component, stupidly. But faithful mplayer plays it regardless!

Good luck.
