It appears to be that you can only choose between 2g and 3g for connection. The problem I have is that usualy when I am connecting to the internet, is that I am in a low 3g signal area. What I find is happening is the phone is cycling between 3G and 3.5G. Each time it changes I loose my internet connection on my teathered laptop for a 30+seconds. Is it possible to force the phone stay on 3G rather than have it cycle between 3G and 3.5G?

when it says 3.5 g its actually connected and active, 3g means you're not connected. This usually indicates you either need to reboot or your mobile operator is losing covrage or bandwidth capacity to serve all the providers.

I've been having this problem with O2 lately, am considering changing mobile providers

Stuck with my Vodafone contract
2G works okay. Shame can't get it to sit on 2.5G, would be better than it randomly dropping connecting. Usually take about 30-60secs to sort itself out. Othertimes the phone says it's connected at 3G but laptop will not browse the net. End up switching the phone over to 2G
