I turned off my phone yesterday because I was thinking to save some battery for today..However, when I turn on my phone this morning, all my applications' name changed to some sort of file name.

For example,

my clock changed to this: wdgt_va_12h_time_am

and my media player changed to this: mp_ap_name

I already tried to take off my battery and restart my phone a few times but that didn't help at all. Fortunately, I can still use the phone but it definitely runs slower than usual and it's very hard to comprehend the applications when they do not display their name.

I tried to google this problem but it didn't offers any solution. I read something that it could be the bugs. Anyone knows what's going on?

Please help!! Much appreciated!!!

Weird only ever seen one other post about this and that was on symbianfreak forum. The guy was advised to reflash firmware.
Bit extreme hopefully someone will have a easier suggestion.

Have you tried on of those "root space saving tricks", looks like your device
missing the locales files, which are usually in /usr/share/locale and are responsible for localized program text.

I tried to install the 9 multiple screens that I found at nokia n900 application website. But that didn't work. I already uninstall the program. Do you know how to restore the original setting of the Term X?

open xterm and try:
(you need to have "rootsh" installed)

Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop
