hi i have a major question for me i have a laptop connected to the internet by a broadband connection ( the connection that is a usb device u connect it to the laptop in order to get a internet connection **satalite connection**) so is it possible that i connect my N900 to the internet with a wi-fi connection through my laptop and if there is how ?

P.S: my laptop is Windows Vista ... and its HP if it makes a difference

i believe you're talking about using your laptop's wifi connection to create its own hotspot, from which your n900 can connect onto this wireless hotspot.

i'm currently using connectify. it's free, supports multiple users and allows WEP security if necessary.

too bad, connectify doesn't support my wifi adapter.

mm my laptop is connected through the satiltie usb connection it appears on my vista like it is a dial up connection but i want to make my laptop as a wireless connection for other devices when its connected to this satalite connection .. thats what i mean :S is that the same?
i use windows vista not windows 7 too

The easiest way is to use internet connection sharing.
Iḿ currently not on vista, but if your right click on the network connection that is connected to the internet, there should be an option "share" connection. (in the network connections control panel)

You would need to connect the N900 using wifi. Either directly using an ad-hoc connection or by connecting both the laptop and the N900 to an access point.
Sometimes it is aslo possible to set up the laptops wifi in "access point mode", but that depends on the software drivers for the wifi card.

you share the internet connection with this wifi network connection, than the N900 can browse the web.

So yes, it can be done, it isnīt difficult and you do not need any extra software. setting up an ad-hoc wifi connection between laptop and N900 is always possible.
