I have read and followed the long thread:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=461993

and have followed the steps in
http://wiki.maemo.org/Fremantle_Unsu...tooth_profiles

I can pair the keyboard, but it does not send any keys to the N900.

-----

This was an interesting day-long journey of updating Maemo, installing rootsh, editing /etc/bluetooth/main.conf.

But in the end, I can pair the N900 with the SU-8W. but once paired, the keyboard has no effect:

It was not easy figuring out the sequence of steps to take:

You must of course have the keyboard turned on (Bluetooth and on/off icons flash about once a second) and then first choose Pair on the N900. This offers you a four digit random code. Wait until the Fn icon lights up on the keyboard, then type in the four digit random code and hit the Enter key.

You get a yellow banner declaring that pairing was successful and the Bluetooth and on/off icons continue flash about once a second.

I then open a Notes page or a new email. But neither receives any input from the keyboard.

Any further suggestions beyond
http://wiki.maemo.org/Fremantle_Unsu...tooth_profiles

(which does NOT solve the problem)?

I can pair but then no key input is received.

Best regards, Andy

As a was using the N95, connecting the SU-W8 was in two steps. Firstly you need to pair the N95 and the SU-W8 in exactly the way described above. After that, you are not yet able to make any input. On the N95, you should go to a menu called connections, then choose "wireless keyboard", than choose "search for Keyboard". Once the SU-8W was found, an 'enter' ended the job, and input was possible.
So, apparently, this second step is not yet enabled in the N 900. I cannot find any "wireless keyboard" in "settings - personalisation - text input"
I am eagerly waiting for a method to join N900 and SU-8W
best regrards,
willem

Willem hello. Thank you for the reply and inspiration. It now works for me:
I went to Settings > Personalization > Text Input and disabled Virtual Keyboard. The SU-8W now works. I then reactivated Virtual keyboard, and the SU-8W still works.

Kind regards, Andy

see:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=33397&page=2

The numbers are functional using Alt-Gr Q = 1
Alt-Gr W=2 etc
Alt-Gr + Ctrl opens special characters

I got my Nokia SU-8W to work completely as it should with Danish keyboard layout (see http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=31)

Willem thank you.

This works for me for the green characters on the *left* of the key, but what about the right green character, e.g., !, @, etc.

Haven't gotten there yet...

Cheers, Andy
