I just got my N900 on Friday. After a couple of happy days of tinkering and installing apps. I upgraded the firmware to PR1.1 and installed some more apps. Then disaster strikes. I come back to my phone and internet connection is dead. I try to reconnect to my WLAN and the list comes up empty except for "Cellular Data" since my subscription hasn't the 3G features activated yet (different story).

The point is the WLAN has just disappeared. I had used in several location just fine always getting multiple networks in the list. I have tried all forms of reset and even flashed the device completely with two different versions and still nothing. I seem to have broken something.

Has anyone experienced this before?

How can I test the connection part from the x-term?

You're not telling if your WLAN access is working.

The WLAN is working for all other devices and computers if that is what you mean. The N900 is not detecting any WLAN network at all.

b666m: yes that is the flash guide I was following. In the end flashed both the OS and eMMC.
