So, I've been reading all these warning about how those two repos can cause crashes and battery drain or even make me have to reflash. My question is - how? I mean, just having these to extras repos in the app manager shouldn't cause any problems right? Or are these warning refer to INSTALLING apps from extras-devel and extras-tesing?

When you have the repos enabled and you update your softwares, you can get a development/testing version for some software from those repos even though you have originally installed it from "safer" repo.

But I myself haven't had any problems with those, I don't know what the fuzz is all about
