Mobile Maps is a GPS navigation software with pre-loaded maps. In order to use it, you need to download the software itself and at least one set of maps (e.g. UK & Ireland maps).

What you've probably done is downloaded and installed a set of maps but didn't download the maps software itself. Go back to the Ovi Store and download the Mobile Maps software - then you should see a "Mobile Maps 9" icon in your menu.

EDIT: the Maps software is called "Mobile Maps Application" in Ovi Store.

Anyone know which map set needs to downloaded for the US? Downloaded the app, but get "no maps found" message when it's opened.

oh, and for any of the noob-o-centric persuasion, anything downloaded from the Ovi store is placed under "Ovi" in the menu.

While we're on the topic of maps, where is the maps folder located? And can I use map files from the symbian version?

Its under /home/user/MyDocs/Maps

And no I don't think you can use Symbian maps as standard.

Also - try to not hijack threads.
