When I go to the download section of the app manager and bring a list of applications up all the file sizes it displays next to each file are completely wrong. Most applications are displayed as being around 20MB in size. The applications install correctly and while the file is being downloaded it displays the correct file size in the progress bar.

I'm guessing that app manager reports the installed size of the app and dependencies, whereas the download progress will report the package size (presumably with dependencies).

To give you an example of the discrepancy the 'Helsinki Wallpaper' is shown as 21.8MB (if I click on 'details' just before download it also says 'Download size: 21.8MB) Yet when I actually do download it the progress bar shows it's actual size is only 3.42MB, which makes sense for what is basically 4 jpgs. All the apps are showing basically the same download size, give or take a MB or so. Looks like it's only me with this issue and a reflash would solve it, but I can live with it for now.

That shows as 3.4MB here, so yes, it sounds like there's an issue on your device. You could try disabling all the repositories, exiting App manager, then going back in & re-enabling them again. This would force a complete refresh of the metadata, which may help.
