First of all sorry for posting somewhat off topic.
But has anyone ever come across a fully fledged peer to peer social networking service.
At a time where everyone seems to have a fixed or mobile computing device that is permantly connected to the internet, I am beginning to wonder why people buy in to loading everything a central service rather than some kind of peer to peer networking where the data is under thier local control.
This sounds to me like it's tying in with some of stuff on networking that was discussed in Amsterdam - being able to find people etc.
Of course, it won't work for people like me who don't know how to use the location services (and don't much care). I shall remain invisible (behind you!)
