I know from experience that it is possible to compile mencoder for maemo. I built it for diablo but the binary was lost along with my N810. As I remember the executable was about 7MB. Perhaps I'll try compiling it for Fremantle unless someone knows of an existing build.

Is there any software that can encode/convert audio/video files on the N900?
If no then is it possible to develop/port media editing software on the Maemo OS?
