(I searched the forums but didn't find an answer; please disregard this question if it has already been answered elsewhere)

Hej,

I'm running a small ftp(and windows shares) server with my media collection from a windows box.

Is there a way to mount the ftp address to a folder, for example in MyDocs?

I know that there is something in extras-devel for mounting windows shares from shell, but that doesn't seem to be a very practical approach (I'm a linux noob, sadly).

Also there is the gFTP client software but I don't want to copy files, i just want to access them.

Is there a way to solve my problem, via an installable tool or already built-in?

If I had to use some command-line, how could I execute it without typing it into x-term everytime?

Thanks for your help!

There is curlftpfs for fuse available(someone would need o pkg it for Maemo) that would allow this probably.

I have exactly zero experience with ssh and I'm not sure if I fully understand it, but:

This thread seems to be about the same issue, but focused on windows shares. The SSH solution discussed here only covers how to access files that are on the n900. I'd need it the other way round.

The wizard-mounter tool seems to do that job the way I need it but isnt ported yet.

Guess I'll stick with DLNA till then.

I was wondering if there'd be a way, just using FTP. Nevermind then.

/edit:
Ok, there seems to be a way with ssh, but that also isnt stable yet
