If the N900 can supposedly handle a 10mb download rate why can't i at least achieve this speed over wifi? My normal laptop peaks at 15-16mb however the n900 can only get to between 6-7mb.

I just don't get it. Can someone explain it to me?

There are a lot of factors in this, to test it properly you would need to test on the laptop then turn off the laptop to stop any other internet use then immediatly test on the phone. If it still occurs then its the phone connection rather than the ISP, etc.

When you say download what do you mean? internet download or file transfer over wifi?

I am referring to speed tests over wifi. My iphone and n900 seem to top out at the same speed which is around 6-7mb. Laptop gets around 15-17mb. Now i don't expect them to be equal but if the n900 can do 10mb downloads over 3g (supposedly) why can't i get that via wifi?
