I apologize if there is already a thread addressing this. I searched several times and browsed the troubleshooting forum, but did not find anything similar. If there is another thread I should be looking at, feel free to provide a link.



I have an N810 running version 5.2008.43-7. The device frequently hangs and reboots. Everything works fine while I am actively using it- problems start after I lock the screen and leave it alone for a while:

When I slide the switch to unlock the screen and keys, the screen immediately lights up, but it takes several seconds for the device to display the "screen and keys unlocked" graphic. The keyboard will not light up, and nothing I do with the keyboard has any effect on the device. Typing in Notes does not work. If I press the power button, that menu appears after 5-10 seconds. Although the touchscreen usually works at this point, the device often freezes up completely and then reboots.

After the reboot it usually works fine, but if I lock it and put it away the problem recurs.

Has anyone else had this or a similar issue? If so, what have you done about it?

I appreciate any insights you can offer. I'm a Linux newbie, so please explain things as if to a 5 year old.

Have you tried to reflash? Are you on diablo?

Yes, I was on Diablo. I tried reflashing several times, but the problem persisted. Eventually I gave up and sent the device back to the retailer for a replacement which I'm now waiting for. I guess at this point we can only speculate.

I've problem which is a bit similar. At least it relates to sleep mode as in the case above.
Bought n810 coouple of weeks ago. It had Chinock and I reflashed Diablo.
Now when I'm leaving device for several hours it loses all the applets from screen (home gets just clean) and settings of panel ressets as well. Sometimes it even stops reacting on keyboard and stilus and all aI have to do is restarting.
Maybe somebody knows what it could be?

If you are still within your return period, I would just send the device back for a replacement. I had to do that twice before I received one that worked properly. It was a pain, but I'm happier now. Even if you can't send it back to the retailer you should still be covered under Nokia's warranty.
