Songbird and the File Sync Add-on is the perfect iTunes Alternative for syncing your MP3s between your Nokia N900 and your computer. Its also a great desktop client for your MP3 Collection!!! Check it out!

Does it still wipe out all your ringtones when you sync, or have they fixed that one?

does Songbird run any better with ubuntu yet? Last time i tried it (around a year ago) it was very slow and often got stuck.

i have a large collection of FLAC files and it needs to be able to cope with that.

However i really like the interface etc. just was a bit slow.

Songbird is DIRE - I wasted several days on that programme - just went back to itunes and itunes agent for syncing of a playlist with N900.

Perhaps a little more explanation? What didn't you like, why you prefer itunes, etc. That's more likely to be useful to others trying to decide on whether to install this.

Songbird rocks. It used to be bad a while ago but as the time pass and new versions are coming out the program is getting better and better. Currently is my main music player.

i dont like the Way it syncs music, wish it would just make its directory's inside audio folder instead of making new directory's on root of mass memory

Songbird is great . . . but people are creatures of Habit and I guess if your used to iTunes Songbird would feel a little odd and vice versa . . .

I was never big on iTunes or Paying for MP3's in general . . . for me songbird is great built in firefox based browser .... extendability with plug-ins ... grabs up related flickr pictures youtube videos (and a plug-in to download them) and blog articles based on the artist you are listening to!!!!

It is great for me . . . but I guess its not for EVERYONE obviously.

Just as iTunes isn't for everyone.

I use Songbird on both Win7 and Ubuntu without any issues . . . their were some codec issues a few months back with Ubuntu but the newest versions work perfectly fine.

Looks a lot like the Spotify interface

I haven't used it for syncing, but I would think Foobar2000 would be the deal for this. Maybe just a plugin needed.
