ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh can I use ovi maps on my N900. The simple answer is no.
I can get the map up enter my destination and thats as far as i GO...I can even get a red dot moving along the road I am travelling.
However, forgive me for being a noob...it doesnt direct me to my destination. It just shows me where I am.
Perhaps I am expecting too much. Perhaps Iam expecting it to take over my tomtom.......It could be that I haven't a clue on how to use ovi maps.

So what I am asking is...can ovi maps be used like a tomtom and if so how do I use it .

Many thanks

The Ovi Map on N900 does not have turn-by-turn navigation like a dedicated satnav. You can only use it to show you the route from point A to point B (which you can define) and plot it on a map. You can use it to follow that route and the red dot will show where you are at any given moment. But the N900 is not yet a replacement for a TomTom.

But it wasn't clear if the N900 would be included or not.. So nobody's sure when will the N900 have the free turn-by-turn Ovi Maps.. :S

There is a video somewhere with someone from Nokia talking about moving development to QT. If maps is built in QT then I guess it could be made available for the N900

I totally think so too. Also should be much faster than the current OVI map.
