Is it possible to modify the N900 to produce a beeping sound when the battery is about to die? Last time I was on phone and this fine piece of device just died on me... without any notice. So, anything will be helpful... Does this require a bug report?

It does make a sort of sad, warbling ding when it's about to die. Does it quite frequently as well.

This really is not my issue. I just want some sort of notification, whether I am on the phone or off the phone, of the battery dying so that I know where to steer my conversation or charge the phone.

For some reasons, it does not do it with mine. Any way to enhance the volume on it?

I would assume that this volume is set by the "system sounds" in your profile settings.

I wonder how can I do the opposite: turn off all discharge sound notifications. Can it be done? Or is it necessary to turn all sound off?

Replace the files with empty sound files.
