It looks like there may now be an option for N900 users who wish to be able to have paid eBooks readable on their device.

Google eBooks is now live.

http://books.google.com/ebooks

I briefly checked out the sample book from the N900 and it seems like it may be a decent option.

would be nice if they had some downloadable format.....do u think they have an api available so someone could create their own google ebook reader? I'll look into it. thanks for the heads up tho. but i refuse to read the books through the browser....if their stored in the cloud as opposed to downloadable, someone has to be able to access that...tho i do wonder how such an app would facilitate acquisition of paid books....maybe a login process and u buy the books thru the browser then view them thru the viewer?

scratch my previous post. I feel dumb for posting before exploring more thoroughly. There is an option to download an epub file or pdf file....guess im good to go. thanks again
