I had some problems after installing some packages and i decided to reflash. After i backed everything, i reflashed without problems and the device booted up without problems. But now, the device won't take any sim card i put in it (the sim card i was using wasn't removed from the device during flashing) and instead of showing the signal it shows the no sim card icon. My sim card is working ( i tested it on a n95 and a nokia 1680 and it works) and i never had used the pin to use it.

Is there anything i can do to fix it? Is there any way to troubleshoot this? Or should i return it in exchange for a working new one (i bought it last week) ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Downgrade is not possible. if you upgrade to v1.1.1 - you can't reflash to 1.0. GSM module can be only up refalshed

One of the early updates included updated firmware for the GSM chipset. This means it no longer works with the original firmware (which shows as the SIM not being recognised). You'll need to either update OTA over WLAN, or reflash with one of the later firmware versions (the latest, unless you have a good reason to use an older one).

I am now updating with 'Maemo 5' 3.2010.02-08.002 (the 92.7MB update).

Update: After installing, it's working now. Thanks to all the replies.
