Hi all, I have searched this forum for any info and I could not find any.

Well, here is the problem I am having.

I have connected the USB to my Windows XP laptop, and using Nokia PC Suite, I click on the Connect to the INternet button, and it refuses to connect.

Has anyone done this successfully?

I am using the US version of Nokia PC Suite.

Error says, One Touch failed to establish a network connection. I have tried all the manual settings aswell.

Has anyone managed to connect via the Dial Up Networking through windows control panel?

it does work with Joikuspot, but I wanted to use the USB tether so that it does not drain the battery too fast. Thanks

I haven't done it through the usual Windows DUN route, but successfully used it for over a month while I was without broadband. Trying it out of interest using the DUN modem it installed never worked.

Make sure that you check the Settings and make sure your operator is the correct one selected. (It's "Vodafone United Kingdom", not "Vodafone Live! United Kingdom" for those on Vodafone UK)

No you dont have to. If you are in USA, and you are using tmobile.
1. Upgrade your PC Suite. (I am using PC Suite 7.1.30.9) -> Normally I download from Nokia Europe (dont ask why)
2. Settings manually -> and choose US Tmobile Or you can enter epc.tmobile.com as the Server.

Lastly: Very important -
Make sure you have "Data plan" enabled in your plan. (I am using 24.99 data plan).

Some people got lucky they are able to use 10.99 web plan. But, I am not the lucky one.

done all of that, and it still does not work. I am thinking of reflashing the device to start from fresh

There is a "magic" init string that must be added in your USB modem's Advanced properties tab, with the APN in it.
Look for a thread I started myself around january on this very topic, the info is there. It has the words "clarification sought" in the title.
Works fine for me.

Make sure to "install PC Suite support" under the help TAB in PC Suite. I have no problems tethering my N900 since the first day I bought it...No modifications whatsoever. Hope you work it out. LtR over & out

BTW, does your suite actually see the phone (do you have it listed in USB mode above the phone icon? I am not underestimating you or anything, just trying to figure it out with you since I never have had any trouble. LtR
