hello. i've got the extracting with unrar covered, but for the life of me i can't work out how to pack a file with password protection. if anyone knows, could you give me a step by step please.


lets just say the file i want to pack is called ***

There doesn't look to be rar available for the N900 (I'm not sure there's an open-source rar implementation at all), and the p7zip packages don't look to have rar support either.

sorry, i should of made myself clearer. i meant is there a way to do it using x-terminal.

Both of those I mentioned are command-line packages. No, I know on no software currently available for the N900 that will allow creation of any rar archives, password protected or not. Nor am I aware of any open-source Linux software for doing this (the rar package usually available is shareware, so I doubt there's an ARM version anyway) that could be ported.
