Usually in the internal 32GB memory. But you can also put it on a memory card and say Sygic where the files are.
The program itself is fairly small and optified, so no worries.

Installation PATH: I don't like Sygic messes with ~/MyDocs dir..
All their new dirs and files, should be in one Sygic/ subdir if necessary. Even better in .Sygic
/home/user/MyDocs/Drive -> /home/user/MyDocs/.sygic/Drive
.. and so on..

If you prefer another location you can do that yourself. I have placed it in the MyDocs/stuff/sygic dir and changed the application shortcut accordingly:

Maps/ + Res/ dir also can be configured. Cool!
