I noticed today that the button on top of my n900 wasn't working (couldn't bring up the clock when it was locked, or that menu when it was unlocked, etc). I thought it was a software issue rather than a hardware one, so figured a restart might fix it. I couldn't shut down the phone the normal way (button wasn't working), so I just pulled out the battery (stupidly).

Of course, that button is still not working, so I can't turn my phone back on. Is there any way I could:

1) turn on my phone some other way (hardware keyboard, over the USB cable while connected to my computer, etc)

2) fix that button?

Anyone else have this issue?

Ooooooh! I DO have an alarm set, I didn't think of that! There's hope yet.

Thanks for the other responses, too.

Hold U in keyboard and attach USB from PC.
It will wake up.
Disconnect USB - it can reboot.

Or button replacing, if it really doesn't work.

You could flash the device with -R command as the last resort.
