it's amazing...
how long people live without noticing this function

http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_shortcuts_and_gestures

What would be really useful is some kind of indicator showing what mode the keyboard is currently in. The amount of times i've hit shift to capitalize a sentence and its written in lowercase because of the auto-capitalize function...grrrr.

Whoa! It's amazing that a feature obvious to me is not so obvious to others.
Thanks for enlightening me, that pointing even "obvious" things may make others life easier.

yeah i found this feature about ten mins after taking the phone out of the box, but theres lots of other "obvious" little tricks i missed, theres a "tips n tricks you may have missed" thread on here somewhere that i found really useful.

if any of you have used a nokia qwerty phone before you would know that there was nothing new here..this has been there in the e series since ages..

but its fascinating to know all these months people have been using double the no of key presses to type phone numbers in chats or msgs..

one of these days i'll go thru the wiki too for things that may not be so obvious too me..thanks for the link!
