N900 is my first linux device and i am,therefore,a noob. I'm tech savvy but not really clued up as to the device's full potential. Could someone point me in the right direction as to where to start my education?!

The Wiki page is a good place to read up on the N900. I also recommend that you install a Linux on a virtual machine and give it a try. Nothing is better than getting some hands on experience and with a virtual machine if you stuff up, you can just reinstall and start over
