i am trying to open a 80kb pdf document and keep getting an error:

"not enough memory to display document"


its a small file and i do not understand what the challenge is.

i did an

apt-get clean


and it works. my rootfs was full.

The last time i tried, i had the rootfs filled.

If you can use XTerm, tell us the output of

i have 14.8mb now. i only had 70Kib before.


so it fixed after the apt-get clean.

what will this remeove? i have about 50mb but just want to know if its worth doing

Temporary files from apt-get. When you install updates system don't remove archives. apt-get clean is remove them....
It is have sense to do it sometimes

These days, I routinely disable all the catalogs in App Mgr except the updating catalog, and it gives me a large bonus in rootfs space that seems to make my system run faster in general.

Then when I want to update or add new stuff I activate just one more catalog (such as Extras-testing) and look thru to see what's on offer. When I'm thru, I disable that catalog and might go on to another one.

There are more tips for increasing the amount of rootfs space in the Wiki, and I've used most of them.
