Hi guys, is there an app or a setting (maybe?) that if you were to set your phone to the silent profile but would still allow the phone to ring, should a predetermined contact call you?

In everyday use this app would be great, say if you were a very busy business man who needed to keep your phone on silent in meetings but your wife was pregnant and you are waiting for "that" call.

You could pop you phone on silent and hit a button to choose "silent mode for all contacts" or "Silent mode except..." The latter would open your contacts for you to choose a contact that would not be Silenced, meaning you would not miss the birth of your new born child?

Ok that is just one scenario but I hope you get the idea

I know that I have never seen this on a phone before and if there is no such app at all, how hard would this be for a code newbie such as my self to create?

Any advice would be greatly appriciated

Whilst it's not explicitly spelt out, it could easily be done at least on Symbian phones. Just set a custom ringtone for the call you want to hear, and then go into meeting profile (I'm not sure whether a custom ringtone rings with the silent profile but you can always set the meeting profile (or add a custom profile) to make no, or minimum amount of noise).

Should be able to achieve the same on the N900 using the custom ring app or the "75 contacts on the desktop" app
