I had the n900 since it first came out and after a day or two that the phone is on and i get a sms...i hear the sound but it takes a while for it to show upp on the screen...if it does show up on the screen and i click on the multitasking view i see the message in the small window but cant open it for a while for some reason i have to keep clicking and after maybe like 30 sec or so it opens up...but wen i restart the phone its fine for another few hrs...i just wanted to know is this a problem with only mine or others having this too and if any1 can help me fix this.

I have noticed a delay when I leave my phone on for a long time. Sometimes my phone is on as long as a week. Your symptoms and cure are almost verbatim what I have experienced.

EDIT
I do not experience it after a few hours of the phone being restarted though.

What firmware are you on?
And what apps have you been installed on your N900?
How much rootf do you have?
How many Apps opened?
How much music do you have on your eMMC?

Those are the questions!

-Update to the latest firmware!
-Uninstalling all the unstable apps that hogging your CPU and RAM
-Clean up your rootf
-Close those unstable apps and those memory hog apps
-Reboot and let it scan all of your Musics and pictures then start using it, it may take a long time.

+ Reboot!!

These are the answers!
