Hi to all, I've a question about tapping on links in webpages to select an option. When I tap on a link maintain my finger on the screen till the option-window opens and after I move my finger (lifting the screen) to select an option (eg. save as...open in new window...), option-window closes as fast as I can't select option desired. Only way I'm able to select an option is just tapping on a link maintain my finger on the screen till the option-window opens and after crawling my finger on the desired option in option window without never lift it from the screen.
It's normal?

Yes, that is the way to select an option. You just slide your finger to the option you want to select and lift it there.

I think it's a bug, it cannot be the intended behaviour. I have the same problem, too. Sometimes, though, the context menu stays open and allows me to normally select items from it.

The bug is new in Maemo 5 and wasn't there in previous versions of Maemo.

I believe it's normal as in "that's how it seems to work". I would call it a bug - don't know if it has been reported or not.

It is possible to long press and have the context menu stay open but it requires you to lift your finger on an exactly right moment Even with practice I can't manage it two times in a row.

I hope it gets fixed soon.

same here, but i found sometimes, the option is still there even if i moved my finger away, but most of time is that i have to move my finger on the screen to select what i want. I believe it is a bug and could be solved by firmware update.

To open the sub menu you press and hold on what you want to select.
when the sub menu opens take your finger off the screen.
now click onto whatever sub option you want

took me a while to figure this out! trying to keep your finger on the screen through the whole process leads to muchos confusion.

i made topic about popup coming on wrong side for right handed(finger+hand is onway of all information). So it seems that this issue is in way also affected by this.

With stylus popup stays on screen. This might be becuse with figer you tap larger are and also are under popups men. with nail it again works.

.edit
or maybe not..this is definetly bug.it just worked some time with stylus but now i have to keep it on screen.

Like it has been said before: just hold your finger against the screen and slide it to the option you want to select. Don't know whether this is a bug or not.. but I don't see what's the problem of making the correct user of your fingers to solve it. Nice words but i think that with UI design most important thing is to minimize users need to adapt itself to device usage.
