is that mean you have a bad battery ? have you tried using another battery. (try to borrow from your friend's Nokia Nuron 5230 or 5800). they have the same battery with N900.

Sounds like it's almost dead.. let it charge for a while. Do you have a battery monitoring program?

If I turn it off when i go to turn it back on, it ocmes up saying nokia, though the screen isn't backlit, then it comes back, lit up the led goes bright white for a few seconds, then it all fades away. It then does this every time I try to turn it on unless plugged in to the charger.
