When I start the Pypiano application it reads "Pianobar Error; Pianobar experience an error. Pianobar Output: Protocol incompatible. Please upgrade libpiano. Restarting Pianobar." This application worked before and after a few updates or new downloads it stop working. I've reinstalled the program but meet the same problem. If you have feedback let me know because I need my music. Thanks

Try enabling testing repository and see if there's any updates from there. I got the same message as you earlier, but it's now working as it should after I install the update from the testing repository.

"Testing Repository?" How do I do that exactly? I'm a novice when it comes to that area. Also..., will that cause harm to the device? I just have all the stock repositories and the maemo extra.

Yes, this problem was introduced approx 2 weeks ago. Current fixes are in both testing and devel repositories and I have enough votes to push them back to extras to fix this.. unfortunately - we're still in the quarantine period (10 days).

I think I have somewhere from 2-4 days before I can promote the packages to the normal repository again.

As far as how to activate testing: This is typically not recommended for normal users - but if you really want it before 2-4 days are up then you can read here.

Recommended practice is to enable it, go find specifically the package you want, install it, then disable the repository until you need it again. Not recommended to update all your packages from there unless you actually want to "test" them.

pyPianobar is stable, though.
