i have never tried an android phone and only used series 40 and winmo os. everything that i want on a device is and will be available for android (slingbox, latest flash, free talking gps app and skyfire). meego and winmo7 infos is still scarce on what they will offer and symbian is my last option. i might shift to android as my next phone but i want the multi task capability. does it have the feature?

Yes it can.

Why ask on a Maemo forum about another OS though!? Aren't there any Android forums?

It is in the off topic forum, anything goes here

not that you are asking, but I hear that the latest iphone 4 os now allows multitasking. I have not used one, just hearing from a friend. Note that most of the apps are yet to be upgraded to support it, but I assume all os going forward will be doing many things at once. I think the biggest reason for this push is thanks in part to the Droid commercials basically laughing at iphone and its lack of multitasking

It will have multitasking. Thought it's a bit different than with WebOS and Maemo. it doesn't keep the application on when you exit it as it takes "snapshot" of it and whe you come back you are in a same situation as you where when you exited it(music player will of course keep playing like already in previous ipods and iphones).

Nokia got the live multitasking and thumbnails where you see example video or browser live without even entering to the application. I like that very much and if something is similar in Harmattan to Maemo 5 i hope it's that.
