If I remember the N900 was originally set for september or october release too - yet we had to wait up until late november / december to get first devices. So I wouldn't give much about this vague information. I can only hope Nokia gets the release done right this time.

The N900 was originally announced in August and demo units were released / preorders were opened in September, with a prospective release date in late October (which got pushed to November.)

I think that if we really get the first version of MeeGo with an UI 30th of June or soon after that, then I think we can expect to get the phone in october as well.
MeeGo seems to be moving on and hitting just about every release date (+/- a day) so unless it becomes an hardware issue then I think we're set. However, I doubt even a hardware issue since Nokia really puts effort into the physical design in these high-end phones.
