Hi,

I was not able to upgrade my n900's qt to 4.6 . The result of `apt-cache show libqt4-core` only show 4.5 package. (I have already added extras-devel in the source list.)

http://maemo.org/packages/view/libqt4-core/

The above page show that only 4.5 is available in extras-devel. What I need should be "Fremantle SDK free armel", but what is the repository address?

Thanks.

thx!

jamie721,

hmm... but I don't find the news

access,

IIRC , libqt4*maemo package will be for qt 4.7 in PR 1.2 release.

Moreover , I want to find the "deb line" for the repository of "Fremantle SDK free armel", becoz it is quite trouble to download qt package one by one.

qt4.6 libs in PR1.1 ( currently on the device ) has the following naming convention
libqt4-maemo5-xxx

so this comand should show you all of them

Code:
apt-cache search libqt4-maemo5*
from PR1.2 it will be libqt4-xxxx
and the cutting edge QT 4.7 or greater will perhaps be visible as libqt4-maemo5* . IIRC they plan to follow the same naming convention.

yes, I know that I could use libqt4-maemo5* . But I am confused becoz libqt4-core = 4.6.2 is existed in my scratchbox environment where my repository only contains standard repository and extras-devel , so I think it should somehow existed in the past.

Anyway, I will switch to use libqt4-maemo5* packages. Thanks for all of your reply.

if you have upgraded your scratchbox lately , its likely you have the PR1.2 version of the SDK. Hence the QT libs show up as you see.

Note: anything you develop on the PR1.2 SDK may or may not work on the device due to wrong dependency linkage, as the device still runs PR1.1.

there are plenty of threads discussing this.
I personally didnt upgrade my SDK to 1.2 , stuck with 1.1, and am i glad !

They're changing to libqt4-experimental instead - see http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=622480
