Hi there, I need to write a very very simple program - a black screen and some white rectangles on it depending on keys I press. Thats all.
So it's really very simple, I just need a quick advice which language to use and which library to draw shapes.
I prefer python to c, but as far as i know most of python libraries arent ported to meamo (thats mainly why i'm asking you to point me one)
Cheers

in maemo5 you have both pyqt and pygame, so its ok for basic drawing and event support.

you need more than that?

Matter of taste, but right now I would use pygtk, if you do not need to be bleeding edge - also already installed and not subject to the Qt flux/hassle, I guess?

If just drawing primatives, I'd say pygame -> less boiler plate for your instance. If you need widgets then obviously pygtk would be the way to go.

PyQt has a stable release in Extras which is (luckily) unaffected by the flux/hassle.
