I love using my Nokia 770 for watching videos, but I never seem to have any readily converted material on my memory card when I want some. I guess I don't plan ahead well... I've found some handy streams that work with the video player, but they aren't terribly interesting to me (e.g. CSPAN).

I have the opportunity to get some webhosting for a year (1000GB storage with the same amount of monthly bandwidth), and was thinking it would be cool to set up a site that provides ready-made video for Nokia tablets. Here's my thoughts:
  1. nokia-browser optimized site
  2. allows you to download or stream the desired video
  3. provides the video at various qualities for streaming over slower connections, etc.
  4. randomized playlist channels (e.g., cartoons, sci-fi, etc.)
  5. a deb package that puts a categorized directory of playlists in the 'Video Clips' folder that gets updated regularly

I suppose it would probably have to be limited to public domain material (like archive.org stuff) for copyright reasons...

Would anyone else be interested in such a thing or am I the only one who finds constantly running Media Converter tedious?
