anyway to record video and pause and then continue recording without having to make a brand new video file?

Yes I am also interested in seeing something like this. The built-in vid recorder does not offer the option of pausing while recording like we saw in the 5800 Xpress. Hope somebody would come up with this idea for a new recorder.
