I have read that the Nokia 770 has serious problems connecting to wifi networks. If anyone has one of these devices please throw some light on this issue. No point in getting one of these if it cannot connect to a wireless network.

One of the major review sites had trouble, but I believe that was traced to a faulty unit. The first software release also had poor/no support for WPA security, but I believe that was fixed in the latest software update.

So no, I wouldn't say that the odds of having trouble are any greater with the 770 than they are with any other young product.

I have only lost my connection once over the 2 1/2 weeks I have been using my 770. I have used it at home, at 2 different public hotspots, and with a peer-to-peer setup for Internet sharing. It has worked great for me!

Mine has also worked well. Using the older version of the software it dropped the WLAN connnection once. With the new software it hasn't happened. I've also used many hotspots and ad-hoc network to my laptop.

It works perfectly, I picked up more connections with the Nokia than I ever did with my Asus WLAN card in my laptop...
