Hi everyone on T-Mobile in the UK. I'm slowly crawling through PR1.2 and have been testing out the Skype video facility. I'm managing to maintain a reasonable video call between my N900 and a home PC over the WLAN, but can't get any joy via 3.5G with T-Mobile to the same PC.

Is anybody on T-Mobile in the UK getting a useable Skype video service 'out in the wild', or this this just simply unachievable?

I can't get Skype video calls working at all. Do you see a dedicated video button with that contact? How do you initiate the video call?

I tried sending video from PC with the latest Windows 4.2 and Linux 2.1 release of Skype but nothing was received on N900. Which version are you running on PC?

Hi Claudius. My WinXP Skype client is on the last but one 4.2 release (it's telling me to update to the new one). I have the webcam set up and working on the PC and have logged into Skype with a different account to the one on my N900. Both accounts are showing as being online to each other. The N900 doesn't give the option to make a video call unless the local status confirms the remote Skype account has a webcam available and is online. I can initiate a video call from either end, but the N900 doesn't seem to turn on it's own cam by default - you have to click it. The video call option only works in landscape mode.

But back to the original question. Anyone got Skype video calls working over UK T-Mobile 3.5G?

Thanks Andrew, got it working with SkypeWin 4.2 as well. Had to start videocall on Windows first and then N900 showed a "Camera" button in the call view. I can't try on 3G yet.
